The Heartbreak Kid - 2007

The Heartbreak Kid - 2007

Director: Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly

Cast: Ben Stiller, Malin Akerman, Michelle Monaghan

Rating:

Ben stiller is getting so far from being funny by the time he is getting older, and this movie just topped it. If I tell you the movie’s plot as delivered without trimming facts, it tends to sound bizarre.

Eddie (Ben Stiller) is the last bachelor among his friends, all married and some how happy and he just can’t stand the idea of being lonely anymore especially with his father’s continuous nagging on him to get into any kind of relationship. He meets Lila (Malin Akerman), likes her, and then decides to get married after weeks from getting together. then he finds out that she is quite different from what he expected! but whose fault is that… she is weird and so is he… who gets married just after weeks from knowing someone?
On his honeymoon, He falls in the love with Miss Perfect - Miranda (Michelle Monaghan) whom he can’t be with since he is already taken… then the plot builds up… I won’t be telling you what happens but I am trying to get somewhere here, trying to view the picture from top. Someone decides to get married just for the sake of getting married and falls in love with another woman on his honeymoon… where is the comedy in that and, by the way, its not the loveliest idea to promote and not the greatest image to portray… for marriage, love, and women in general (deciding whose perfect and who’s not).

Other than that I found the movie boring, not that funny, and the choice of actresses’ is just so lame, the stupid girl isn’t that stupid and the lovely one isnt that lovely.

I think Hollywood has given us much funnier movies! so other than you extremely like Ben Stiller and can’t wait to watch his new movie… I recommend that you don’t waste your time… so skip it!

  1. Mazen Said,

Totally agree, waste of time, not even entertaining.

What is more bizarre is that it was rated 18+ in Dubai! While Beowulf 15+ ?

I think Ben Stiller managed to only impress for real in the 2000’s in National Museum.

    Cheers.
