Addicted to Love - 1997

Director: Griffin Dunne
Cast: Meg Ryan, Mathew Broderick, Kelly Preston
Rating:

A funny down-to-earth romantic comedy; about the feeling every man and woman get when abandoned or betrayed by their beloved… it’s funny don’t worry!
Here we see a typical Meg Ryan, the same role she plays over and over; the romantic, spontaneous, funny little lady. Anyways that’s the only role she fits in, try to see her in some other dramatic roles…. I don’t advise you (she is “seriously” bad but “amusingly” cute
). However, this time Meg Ryan shows the funny but dark side of her when she appears with smokey eyes and spiky super blond hair in a pair of leather pants and on a Harley Davidson…
Mathew Broderick fits his role as well who plays a sad romantic man who is so in love and so in despair… can’t be true in real life
This movie is a typical “betrayal & payback story” but with a twist. What is the twist? Some new conventional ways of getting vengeance along with pride and dignity back. In this movie you want see the regular revenge ways but more elaborated hi-tech surveillance systems, hidden cameras, and wall projectors… funnily miserable.
It is a Sunday movie to watch with family or friends over brunch, not much concentration required.
If you need a background movie in a family gathering or a late night movie on a girls sleep over… you might consider renting this one to watch!

This movie actually is different from most of the love stories. Because it tells us about the dark part of the human. Esp., the scene when Meg and Matthew ( sorry, I forgot the characters’ names) watch their lovers’ life through a projector is very amazing. They love so much and so desperatly that , they try to be part of them by observing them secretly.
To sum up, It’s a good movie and fun to watch..
Thanks Holden for your comment, this ‘watching idea’ is really sad, but as you said it’s real…and its part of the human nature… anyways enjoy reading
!
Well, it was just entertaining for me, I did not get this deep into it.
I cannot call this movie very different, different ones would be along the lines of “If Only”, “Wicker Park”, “Frankestein” and “Dracula” for that matter
Cheers.
