It’s been ages since the last time I saw a real princess who is waiting to be saved by her own prince and the series of constraints the evil witch will put in their way and the help they might get from the unpredictable. I have been waiting for this fairy tale to come up for long time, and when it first hit the movie theaters, there I was finally… ecstatic! A prince, a princess, a witch, and lots of pirates and gypsies… all were on board. What a lovely combination of legends and myths!

The movie is magical in every sense; the mix of characters and stream of events, the amazing choice of cast starting from the beautiful witch Lamia (Michael Pfeiffer) to the brutal Pirate Captain Shakespeare (Robert Di Nero) then the silly brat Victoria (Sienna Miller) to the innocent starlet Yvaine (Claire Danes). Every character had its unique self which created the perfect ambience to get your mood on the wing to the perfect spot in Faraway-Land.

This movie is a grown-up restoration of bedtime stories and grammas’ fairy tales. Neil Gaimen’s novel “Stardust” waited for almost 13 years before it got to see life when he teamed up with the director Mathew Vaughn and came up with a 1 ½ hours of a peaceful dream.

When you watch the movie, you will get to see what makes a fairy tale; a pure princess who is waiting for love, a charming prince who can go to the end of the world to rescue his beloved, a seductive witch that will do anything to gain back her youth and power, and some amusing characters starting with the pirate Captain Shakespeare (who happens to be softer than expected) to the king’s greedy sons who are fighting over their dead father’s thrown.

If you really wanna see a good fairy tale and stop wondering why children kept up to theirs, here is a much elaborated full-fledged one…

… And if you wanna get to see a glowing princess, a cute pirate, and a super sexy witch… here is a must watch movie!
